Our sustainability action plan
FROM WORDS TO CONCRETE ACTIONS:
The respect of the environment has always been one of the fundamental values of Les Sources de Soultzmatt. Thus, the plant has put in place an action plan to reduce its carbon footprint and energy consumption by 30% in three years. This sustainable development policy is part of all aspects and processes of the company.
THE RAW MATERIALS:
To limit the carbon footprint, the ingredients that make up our lemonade come from local producers:
Lisbeth spring water is labeled « Savourez l’Alsace, Produit du Terroir ». This certification guarantees the Alsatian origin of water and helps support small local producers.
The sugar and all the natural flavors used in our lemonades are made in France.
Organic sugar and cardboard boxes come from neighboring countries such as Switzerland and Germany.
All our lemonades come in beautiful, embossed glass bottles that can be reused or recycled.
The plant also invested in a new labelling machine that reduces label thickness and consumes up to ten times less glue.
Within three years, the company invested more than 300 000 euros to optimize the production efficiency and reduce its energy consumption. For example, the gas consumption was reduced by 30% thanks to investment in steam pipes isolation and in a more ecological steam unit.
Moreover, photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the plant. 10% of the electricity comes from these panels which reduced the impact by 60 tons of CO². The panels were made in Alsace with materials that can be 95% recycled. Overall, these investments allowed the facility to reduce its carbon print by 91 tons of CO² and to reduce its energy consumption by 482 MWh per year.
